Questions to Ask Before You Book a Monthly Hotel Stay

Published Oct 18, 2026

A monthly rate only helps if you know what it covers. Before you pay, ask the hotel the questions below and keep the answers in writing. It takes ten minutes and saves most of the surprises.

About the price

  • What is the full monthly total, with taxes shown on their own line?
  • What does the rate include: Wi-Fi, parking, utilities, housekeeping, laundry?
  • Is there a deposit, and when do I get it back?
  • When do I pay: up front, weekly or monthly?

About the room

  • Does the room have a kitchenette? What is in it: stove, microwave, fridge, dishes?
  • Can I see the exact room type, or a photo of it, before I book?
  • Is there a desk or a place to work, and how fast is the Wi-Fi in the room?

About the stay itself

  • How often is the room cleaned, and can I skip service?
  • What happens if I need to leave early or stay longer?
  • Who do I contact if something breaks?

Send these in one email, so the answers sit in one thread. A hotel that answers clearly in writing is usually easy to deal with during the stay too.
