Moving With a Pet: What to Confirm Before You Book a Monthly Hotel
Published Oct 18, 2026
Pet rules change from one hotel to the next. For a stay of 30 nights or more, small rules turn into big ones, so check them before you book and keep the answers in writing.
Ask about the pet terms
- Are dogs and cats both allowed?
- How many pets per room, and is there a weight limit?
- Is there a pet fee? Is it one time, per night or per month?
- Is there a pet deposit, and is it refundable?
Ask about the room and the building
- Which rooms take pets? Ground floor rooms can make daily walks easier.
- Is there a place on site to walk the pet?
- Can the pet stay alone in the room while you work? Many hotels have a rule on this.
Plan the daily routine
A month is long. Look at the area around the hotel on a map before you book: parks, a vet, a pet store. Ask the hotel how housekeeping works when a pet is in the room, so you can plan for the days the room is cleaned.
Get it in writing
Ask the hotel to confirm the pet terms by email, with the monthly total including pet fees. If you are asked to sign a pet form at check-in, ask to see it before you travel.
What next
On Monthly-Hotels.com you can filter hotel pages by pets allowed. Send your dates and mention the pet in your request, so the hotel can answer with the right room and terms.
